Perseverance

My mama comes home one afternoon.
I go and hug her, because I you never know when you will have your last. And when she walks a little out of locking arms.
Me: “Wait, I won’t let go. Let me have this moment.”
Mom starts counting…
Mama: “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 … (Counting quickly)”
Me: “Bakit ka nagbibilang?”
Why are you counting?
Mama: “Ah. Binibilang ko lang ang mga moments.”
Ah. I was only counting the moments.
Me: “…”
Me: “Pwede mo sana bagalan…”
You could have done it slower...
My mama just laughed it off.
